This Privacy Policy describes how stockInvesting.com ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our Service. We take your privacy seriously and collect only what is necessary to provide our Service.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide directly

• Account information: email address and encrypted password when you register
• Payment information: handled entirely by Stripe; we never receive or store your full card number
• Research queries: tickers you request reports for
• Watchlist: tickers you save for tracking
• Communications: messages you send to our support team

Information collected automatically

• Usage data: pages visited, features used, reports generated, timestamps
• Device information: browser type, operating system, IP address
• Cookies: essential cookies for authentication and session management; no third-party advertising cookies

2. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
• Process payments and manage subscriptions
• Generate and deliver your research reports
• Send transactional emails (receipts, account notifications, service updates)
• Respond to support requests
• Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with third parties for advertising purposes.

3. Service providers we use

We rely on a small number of trusted service providers to operate:

• Stripe: payment processing
• Anthropic: AI report generation (we send ticker symbols; we do not send your account information)
• Intrinio: financial data (we send ticker symbols; we do not send your account information)
• DigitalOcean: server hosting
• Email provider: transactional emails

Each provider has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data we share with them for these purposes.

4. Data retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you cancel, we retain data for up to 90 days before deletion, in case you choose to reactivate. Report data and generated PDFs are retained in your account indefinitely unless you request deletion. We may retain records longer where required by law (tax records, fraud prevention).

5. Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information
• Delete your account and associated data
• Export your data in a portable format
• Object to certain processing activities

6. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS), encrypted databases, hashed passwords, restricted server access, and regular security audits. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security of your data but we work continuously to protect it.

7. Children's privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

8. International users

Our servers are located in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the US. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer.

9. Do Not Track

We do not currently respond to Do Not Track browser signals because there is no industry standard. We do not engage in cross-site tracking regardless.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email at least 30 days before taking effect. The "Effective" date at the top of this page indicates the most recent revision.
